Engine Mechanical problem
2005 Nissan Xterra 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 100420 miles

i had sending unit replaced last weekend, mechanic accidentally pinched the fuel tanks vapor line and went on a 250 mile trip.... gauge went from 3/4 to 1/4 to empty..... half way into the trip i turned engine off and opened gas tank lid... a lot of preassure came out followed by bubling sound every 10 seconds for 8 minutes.... next day had mechanic fix the pinched hose and also had purge valve on carbon canister replaced and canister cleaned because it had a lot of dust and dirt where purge valve is located.... filled up friday and sunday 25 miles later i am showing 3/4 tank.... plus when i turn on the fresh air (no a/c) i get a faint smell of gas...... did the extra preassure in the gas tank damage the fuel preassure regulator on the ingector bars???? i dont know what to check to find problem.... no service engine light, rpm at normal when idle and moving... no smell of gas in the rear tank area.... no signs of gas leak inside engine compartment... really need your help to find out what is happening
