Transmission problem
2005 Hyundai Accent 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 36,000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
The gear shifter is stuck in park, and won't release.
car does start just fine.

There is a brake interlock switch that does not allow the shifter to be moved unless the brake pedal is depressed.
The switch is likely defective.
