Engine Mechanical problem

I just bought this used car from a well known delaership. I have had it for less than two weeks. I took it back to the dealership because the car had overheated twice in three days. They ran a diagnostic test and it has a blown head gasket. they tore down my whole engine to see what was causing it to "Fail" its been six days in the shop and they just now told me that the tempature gauge is was casuing it to fail and that all of my cylinder heads are warped and have to be replace. Can you please tell me a little bit more about this? I can only hope that my extended warranty covers this.Can you also tell how pricy this is going to be alot?
