Engine Mechanical problem
2005 Dodge Ram V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 52000 miles

My truck will stall and shudder occasionally (3 out of 5 stops) when stopping while the engine is cold, but runs fine when the engine has been warmed up. I've read a lot of questions here and I've seen some of the solutions. Where I differ is I have changed my transmission fluid and filters about 2-3 weeks before this problem started occurring. I see that people have been able to solve similar problems by changing the IAC valve and the EGR valve, but I can't help but think it's related to my transmission fluid/filter change. Would something I've done incorrectly lead to this problem? Perhaps one of the filters I changed is faulty? Not seated correctly? The installation was a bit of a pain and I don't necessarily have all the confidence that its perfect. Should I explore the tranny issue more, or the emissions system issue?

I should also add that the CEL is NOT on and is not throwing any OBD codes.

** Adding more detail: I also want to add that there is no problem with the idle or stalling when the truck is not in gear. It only shudders and stalls when stopping or slowing (below 10mph). Also, I have taken the IAC valve off and cleaned it with gasoline as best I could but the problem persists.

I would ask if it seems to be transmission, or the engine that the shudder comes from? when it does it try putting the shifter into neutral, does the shudder stop? If so, recheck the work you did on the tranny, if the filter came out or is not seated in the o ring seal, you will have tranny problems, when it's cold, it may be looser than when warmed up. Heat expands all things!
