Engine Performance problem
2005 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 70000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
Hi, I have a 2005 Chevy Impala 3.4L, 70k miles. For about a month I had a smell of gas inside the car but car ran good. Took to shop and had plugs, fuel filter replaced. Also ran injector cleaner in fuel tank on two different fills. Left Mobile for Pensacola and drove 65 mph on cruise till battery light came on and car just died. Pulled off to the side engine turned over but would not start. Check Engine light never came on but another Indicator light appeared which I never saw before. I checked the symbol in my owners manual and it stated it was a problem with some sort of air to fuel flow/mixture to the computer which I don't know what this means. Had it towed to friends house and am going back next weekend to either try and fix myself or have towed again to the shop (OUCH!!!) A friend told me it may be the Mass Air Floe Sensor (MAF) as he had the same problem and he replaced his and problem solved...What do you think...Thanks...P.S. when I get paid next week will (MY WORD) send in a donation for you folks...Thanks again
