Engine Cooling problem
2005 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 89,000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
Temp gauge goes from cool all the way over past the red mark - even when engine is cold. Does not run hot, no odors, etc.
Unplug the wire from the temp sensor on the end of the cylinder head above the bellhousing (trans). If the guage stays on cold or doesn't move, replace the sensor (about 12 bucks). If it does the same thing then there is a short in the wiring probably in the sensor connector or look for frayed wires.
Donate if this solves your problem as they solved mine so I donated and now I also try to help when I can. VIC
