Air Conditioning problem
2004 Mitsubishi Lancer 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 68000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
Recently my a/c stopped blowing air. My friend said I might need coolant, but then I told him that it doesn't blow anything out at all, not even hot air. Then a few days later, it started working again, and everything seemed fine. The air was nice and cool, and I just blew off the problem. Then the same thing happened again. It was working, I got out and went to the store, came back in the car, turned it on, and it didn't work. I drove a whole day without air, and in the morning when I got in the car, it started working again. What could be the problem?

Do you mean the blower fan doesnt work? no air comes out of the vents? Sounds like the blower motor is going out.Sometimes they get a bad spot in them and wont turn on until they are jarred by something to move the motor a little bit.Next time it wont work, use a test light and see if there is power at the blower motor (located behind right side of dash, see pic, sorry about quality)

If it has power, the motor is bad, if not it could be a bad fan seed resistor (located near the blower) or bad connection in the dash.If it ihas power, just for laughs, try tapping on it to see if it will start working
