2004 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 60000 miles

Recently I put a header on my 04 cavalier along bypassing the cat converter with a straight thru pipe reinstalling the sensor approx. where it was in the original pipe, after driving 80 miles the check engine light is on...I havent scanned it yet but wonder if the sensor is the problem being the exhaust is straight thru?

most likey yes that is your problem. they make an o2 eliminator that can take the place for it and trick the computer.

Thanks for the reply, the light went off on my way home from work today but it will probably return, I'll look into the eliminator, who sells them? Thanks, fred

if you google search it im sure you will find one
