2003 Other Mercedes Benz Models Blows Hot Air in Rear Seatin

Air Conditioning problem
2003 Other Mercedes Benz Models V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 85000 miles

The AC works great in the front seats but when the AC is needed the most, it begins to blow hot air to the rear seats. This is an on-again off-again problem. Also, the environmental settings seem to be very slow to respond to the inside temp. Any ideas?
