Electrical problem

My door locks stopped working on my at around 40,000 miles. The problem that I am having is that the driverside door of the 2 door coupe does not respond to the remote. It will neither lock or open the door. However. If the door is locked or and shut I can hit the button and and the horn blow still takes place from the alarm system. That tells me that the remote system still has some functionality if not all. If I manually unlock the driverside door it will unlock the passenger door as it is supposed to. But for whatever reason it will not open when I hit the button. Oh yeah. The trunk button works as welll as the panic (red) button. There is some hangup taking pace within the driverside door. Never had anything done to that door... Please advise
