2003 GMC Yukon Low idle after changing fuel filter

Engine Performance problem
2003 GMC Yukon V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 93,000 miles

I just changed the fuel filter on my 2003 GMC Yukon and after starting the idle was very rough and the engine would stall. I disconnected the battery before changing the filter so I decided to run through the steps to reset the system, now it runs better but still idles at much lower RPM than before and doesn't run nearly as smooth as before. What the heck could it be?
