Engine Performance problem

ok...heres my update for the malibu that wont start...i took a spark plug out and left it connected to a spark plug wire...there was spark....i replaced the fuel pump relay and fuel filter...and still nothing...just a reminder..i was at the gas station and ran in to get something to drink while my car was still runnig and when i came out the car stop running...i have power, and the engine does grind....tried to jump it and did the ten/twenty minute thing....ive been advised it might be the fuel pump...what is wrong with my ride....
