Air Conditioning problem
2003 Buick Rendezvous 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 100000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
working on this car for a friend and the a/c condensate is pooling inside the car under the drivers feet. I can not find a drain tube of any kind(assume it is clogged). Buick dealership said it is in engine compartment on the fire wall behind some type of panel. All i see is 2 rubber grommets with nothing behind them. can you help me find this mysterious clogged tube? never used this website before and dont mind donating if I can get help.

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

SERVICE VME
This 2001 through 2004 model year Rendezvous and Aztek evaporator case water intrusion message is being sent to all Buick and Pontiac dealers. Engineering has identified a potential water leak path from the evaporator case drain provision on all 2001 through 2004 Buick Rendezvous and Pontiac Aztek models. Under certain high humidity and high ambient temperatures, when the vehicle is being driven for extended period of times using a very low blower speed, the condensation can reach the vehicle and wet the front carpeting. If the owners encounter this condition and subsequent water testing shows that there is no other cause for the water leak, an extension elbow should be installed to reduce the likelihood of any reoccurrence of water entry. The part number recommended is 22542866. This part is also used on other General Motors products. Our current plan is to utilize this part in production as soon as possible and a bulletin is planned which will contain the breakpoints when the production changes to use the new elbow. End of message.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.

Models:
(01, 02, 03, 04 Buick Rendezvous/Pontiac Aztek)

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.

The drain tube is very difficult to find. I can't find any pictures of it for you. You might have to get under the vehicle to find it. It will be on the firewall, in the middle or on the passenger side.
