2003 Audi A6 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 60000 miles

My dealer replaced my instrument cluster under warranty and when i got the care back the dash was warped. They tried to explain that they didn't have to remove the dash to replace the instrument cluster, but that's the only thing they did that could have possibly required removing the dash.

Are they full of it? Does the dash need to removed to replace the instrument cluster?

There is no necessity to remove the dash to replace the meter cluster.
