Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Other Chevrolet Models 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 51100 miles

I brought my car in to a new mechanic this morning who was recommended by a friend. He told me the following things were wrong:
1 cylinder needs to be replaced
needs a tune up
EGR Valve needs to be replaced
Water pump is leaking

He gave me a quote of $900 (said it should be $1000 but was giving me a discount). Does this sound like a fair price?
