Engine Performance problem
2002 Mazda MX5 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 128000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have a Mazda 2002 mx5. Mechanic just installed a new clutch and timing belt. Now when I drive the car the car bucks where you feel the engine jump like alittle orI use the word buck.
The only time the serge or "buck" is happening is just when I am driving along and all of a sudden right at the speeds of 60 miles per hour to 66 miles per hour , in between these speeds, when I let my foot simply off the gas peddle a little it starts to buck or another word might be a surge in the engine. A person can feel in inside the car when driving it and this happens
Gentleeman,
Thank you for your reply!
I have taken my car back two more times since I asked you this question.
The repair shop did find a vacuum leak not sure which of the two areas but somewhere with the timing belt and clutch and fuel.
Today for the 4th day in a row, I still have the problem but it is definately less.

Today, this morning, the mechanic tells me the timing belt is fine and as is the clutch. That to replace a timing belt or a clutch a mechanic has to take off all of the parts including spark plugs or coils, etc. Perhaps since they "touched" these parts when putting the parts back now there is a problem???!!!
To me this sounds like pretty poor excuses! This problem never, ever, ever happened before until they put in a new timing belt and new clutch. Common sense tells me it has to be in the timing belt. It appears you gentleman think this may be the case as well??
What am I too do!! I have to get this problem solved. I took out a car repair loan to get this fixed. They keep telling me not too worry. They need to fix this problem. I truly believe as you gentleman do it is in the timing belt!!!
What can I do? Any other advise? Certain men do not like me to walk in the shop with a suggesting( I imagine, I have not tried this yet, but I am about too!) from an online source as your website, but your reply certainly sounds like it could help!!
THANKS FOR HELPING ME!!!
