2002 Dodge Stratus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

I have a 2002 Dodge Stratus R/T and the windshield waasher pump doesn's pump when I hold the switch. I have tested and there is juice to the pump wires at the pump, but the pump doesn't pump. I have consulted my local dodge dealer for a new pump and they suggested that sometimes it can be fixed by grounding the washer fluid pump motor but the guy i talked to didnt know how to do it. Can you tell me how to do it to see if the pump can still work or I need to order a new one.
