Transmission problem
2002 Dodge Ram V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 79,000 miles

No previous problems, but now when i put the truck in "D" it doesnt start out in first gear. I can manually put it into 1st or 2nd but when i put it in drive it starts out in third. It wont shift until i get to around 50mph. But when i go to stop, it will down-shift itself. Anyonr have any ideas?

possible speed sensor /and or solenoid



do u have check engine light on ?
and if so scan for code s

I would still hook it up to a scanner and check what the tranny mode is
