Engine Performance problem
2002 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 120000 miles

My transimission recently went out on my 2002 dodge intrepid and was repaired . Since then I drove it 800 miles after getting out of the shop with no problem. Last week my car stopped while I was at a light. I let it sit for 6 days and drove it again. I was able to go 40 miles before it stopped again. I parked the car and tried driving it in two days. I was only able go 5 miles before it stopped again. The longer I go without driving my car the more miles I can get before it shuts off. When it shuts off the sterring wheeling gets tight. what could be the issue
