Steering problem
2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 71438 miles

Today my steering started to become difficult to turn. The fluid was barely low and I added some. The steering became normal for a while but is now extremely difficult to turn. The fluid level has not dropped. What things can I expect from a mechanic and how can I keep from being ripped off?
