2003 Chevy Suburban Two Wheel Drive

I am hearing a faint slow clicking noise when my airconditioning is running. (As if my keys were hitting the steering column, which is what I thought is was at first.) If I turn it off, I no longer hear the noise. If I again turn it back on, I may not hear it for awhile. I just had the compressor replaced and the power supply to the compressor replaced, but this noise was happening before that.
What is it related too? Thanks.
