Electrical problem
2002 BMW X5 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 120000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
My lowbeam lights will not come on. Intermitantly, they with come on for a few seconds and then go off with a "message"...check lowbeam lights. The bulbs are good. The switch is good. It could be a bad relay??? I can't find the relay! to check it. I have the "auto-on" switch on the dash. The lights will not come on in manual or auto. Hi-beams are ok. Fog lights ok. Problem occured after about two weeks of not driving and the bat ran down. Recharged fine...but lowbeam headlights would not work. Thanks

Prepare for some bad news. Try this first, disconnect the battery for a minute and then reconnect it. This is what BMW calls a master battery reset, its like control, alt, delete on your computer. If that does nothing, you will need to scan for fault codes and/or "reflash" the general module. You may have fried something during the battery recharging session.
