Engine Mechanical problem

My check engine light, vsc trac and vsc off lights have been on for a couple of months..My dealership was unable to find the cause of this problem on my first visit and suggested a loose gas cap might be the problem...the second diagnosis about 6 weeks later they said the problem was caused by a faulty charcoal canister and the cost to replace this would be $759.00 for the canister assembly and fuel filter...this sounds like I'm being ripped off here as I just saw a charcoal canister assembly for sale on the internet for $289.00...
any suggestions? Should I find a new Toyota dealership to do my repairs?

Get a scan done at your local Autozone outlet and come back with the exact DTC. You can enquire about the parts price while you are there.
