Brakes problem
2001 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 54000 miles

Hello,

The ABS and Trac Off light on the dash are staying on. Had the car put onto the computer to see what the problem would read but it did not read any problems. Replaced the front brakes (again, wear fast), checked the fuse and external wiring seems to be no problems. What would you suggest next?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Did they scan the ABS system? this is most likely where the problem is. When the ABS has a problem it shuts down the traction control system as well.

Yes, the ABS System was checked on the computer also. There were no problems. The wheel sensors read out good.

Fo those lights to be on, there is a problem somewhere. Who scanned the vehicle? did they use a code reader or a scan tool? Those lights dont come on for no reason. The problem may be the EBCU (electronic brake control unit) not communicating with the scan tool

It was checked by a mechanic both ways, scanner and a reader. They also did a drive ability and each wheel sensor read correctly.

Im going to have to suggest you take it to a shop that can diagnose the non-communication problem between the EBCU and the vehicle. Ther is more to the system than just wheel sensors, and the ligths are telling that the controller sees a problem. Now comes the hard part, finding out why
