Noises problem
2001 Other Chevrolet Models 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 52,234 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have a 2001 Chevy Tracker and I have never had any problems with it and it only has 52,000 miles on it. Today I was on the hyway and a loud rattling/grinding noise was coming from the engine...I have a 5 speed manual transmission. It seems that when I take off or in gear and moving I have this loud rattling noise that wont let up but if i push the clutch in the noise goes away until I let off the clutch again. Is this the clutch going out? I dont have any problems as far as the feel of the clutch pedal or hard to go into gear...everything seems perfectly fine until I take off. Changing gears the sound goes away due to the clutch pedal being pushed down, but as soon as you let up off it, it goes back to this loud rattling sound. Please help before I take it to the mechanic. Also will this ruin the car more if its still driven? I dont like to drive it cause the loud sound is loud enough for all cars on the road to hear.
