2001 Mitsubishi Montero Codes P0715 and Transmission code 2

Transmission problem
2001 Mitsubishi Montero V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 75000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
The Neutral light started flashing when my car is in D,3,2 and Low but not in R. Service engine light is on. Codes are P0715 and my mechanic said also code 22 and that they all were Transmission codes. What to do?

Hi ttnak,

P0715 = Input speed sensor A circuit malfunction.

Code 22 = Kickdown servo switch does not turn ON when in 2nd or 4th gear.

The input sensor is located outside the trans, so I would suggest checking it for problem first. If it is not the sensor, then it is the trans internal fault which might require a rebuild.

Code 22 is the by product of P0715
