Engine Performance problem

Hi and thanks - the car runs fine but when you shut it off and try to restart- it only runs for about 3 seconds and then shuts back off - the car will then start right back up, but then only runs again for 3 seconds. i put new coils packs and plugs and wires. just noticed the bottom radiator hose is cold and i am changing the thermostat now. i dont think the temp sensor would shut the engine off, but maybee ?? crank or camshaft sensor??? im lost. thanks Carl
