2001 Hyundai Accent Exterior Door Handle

Interior problem
2001 Hyundai Accent 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 36000 miles

My exterior door handle does not work. The interior one does. I have the door panel off but nothing seems to be broken and the bars to the interior handle are connected. What could be broken or disconnected that would cause the outside handle not to work? Is there a website that offers a picture diagram of the inside of my door mechanisms?
