Engine Performance problem
2001 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 108400 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
My wife checked the oil and said there was none, so she added 5 quarts and did not look at the dip stick after adding the oil. When she pulled into the driveway, I could smell oil burning. She started the car and there was a huge cloud of smoke from the exhaust. I started it up and push the gas pedal, the engine was bogging down and losing power. I shut it off and checked the oil, the dip stick read about two inches above full. I drained the oil and re-serviced it with the proper amount. I started it up and still smokes a lot and engine loses power when I push on the gas. Previously, the engine did not smoke. What damage to the engine would result in over servicing the oil by several quarts and driving 10 - 15 miles? Are the valve seals and other oil seals damaged? Piston rings? Is the power loss due to the spark plugs being fouled out? What do I do next? HELP...

No metal flakes in oil pan after draining the engine and no knocking. The AC compressor is making noise, but that has been doing it for weeks now. I just pulled out all the spark plugs, black and and can smell oil on them. I had oil dripping out of the plastic intake manifold when I moved it to get to the spark plugs. Could the breather value sucked into the manifold the excess oil in the value covers? Going to replace the plugs and run it -- see what happens.

I started it up after changing spark plugs and let it run for 10 minutes, then drove around the block. It still smokes, but seems to be getting lesser. I popped the hood and removed the oil fill cap while running and it died. Is that suppose to happen? I will go out and check the PVC value. Also, setting in the driveway in Park, I rev engine and over 4000 RPM it starts to chug and bog down. I haven't taken it above 20 MPH yet.
Could there be sensors that got oil soaked in the inlet system?

We have the OHC 6 cylinder and it states PVC value is on the lower intake manifold. I am looking but can't locate it. To change the back spark plugs, I have to disconnect the upper intake manifold -- 6 hrs later I was re-installing it. Hopefully I don't have to remove it again.
