2001 Ford Focus Replacing the idler pulley, not tensioner p

2001 Ford Focus 4 cyl 103,00 miles

I am trying to replace the idler pulley, but the bolt backs out into the top edge of the inside of the fender well. Can I loosen the engine mount bracket and put a jack under it and lift it up the 1" I need to get it out? I cannot find anything online or anyone else who has had this problem. Any idea out there?
The engine is a Zetec 2.0 w/air, 5 speed. Thanks to anyone who can help!
