Steering problem
2001 Chrysler Grand Voyager 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 70000 miles
My van keeps making a rubbing grinding grinding type of noise in the front end it seems to drive and steer fine, I took it to a shop and the mechanic said it was just the rack and pinon steering he said this was normal for this van he assured me everything was fine and safe, he said I would be wasting my money to replace it because in about a year it would be doing it again does this sound right?

I have to be honest, I never heard a rack make a grinding noise. Is the sound only when you turn the wheel? I need to know that so I can help you. To me it could be a brake problem, backing plate rubbing, sway bar bushings...
Let me know.
Joe
PS: Does the steering feel normal?
