After having new head gaskets put in my car, the fuel gage seemed to give me trouble. Once the gas goes below half, the needle will fluctuate from empty to half full. Once second it reads empty and then reads half full. I took it in and the car shop says it is the fuel pump going bad and will eventually have to be replaced. For now I am keeping track of my miles. Does this sound like a possible reason for the gage problems and could this possibly be a result of having the head gaskets replaced?
