Noises problem
2000 Nissan Altima 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
2000 Altima - 70,000 miles - work done
- thermister changed - harmonic stabilzer changed, brake booster changed -

I have 2 issues - one when I drive more than 30 miles - the temperature gauge goes up and done - I figure a bad sensor but does it cause the engine to not run smooth - only occurs after 30ish miles on the road. 2nd I had the brake booster go down about 6 months ago - it was changed but occassionally at very low speeds (less than 5mph) I hear a grinding sound from the front when I step on the brake - I took it to the brake serivice - they inspected all the brakes and did not find anything wrong with them.

i would check the level of coolant. causing up and down of gauge and noise in the brakes can be caused by a bad wheel speed sensor. doesw it sound like the abs is trying to activate? if not then bad brake pads. on normal driving on expressway the temp should be relatively the same. in stop and gop traffic the gauge can go up and down with the operation of the coolant fan
