Computer problem
2000 Lincoln Navigator V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 78000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I had a FORD Delaership install a new computer on my truck. But when you start the truck it'll run for a short while and then it dies. The numeric display that once showed milagle then shows a long row of dashes. The Dealership suggested that there is a miscommunication between the new computer and the Kenne Bell Lightning Supercharger and or the oil/fuel pressure sensor/sender that accompanies the Supercharger. Is it because the sensor is electrical and maybe it has a chip or code? What can I do? I hope I provided enough information to go on.

Thanks

Is it giving any codes? We had a driveability problem with a Kenne Bell on a Dodge and could get no help from them whatsoever. Did the supercharger come with a reprogrammed PCM? What prompted the PCM to be changed in the first place?

[quote="2CarPro Jack"]Is it giving any codes?
I wasn't told there were any codes that came up, with new PCM, if so they were cleared I believe

I attempted to communicate with them so many times. No responses

Did the supercharger come with a reprogrammed PCM?
Yes

What prompted the PCM to be changed in the first place?
The PCM was partically fried, therefore comprimised. Had it replaced hoping for goood results

I would try to get another PCM that has been reprogrammed for the S/C or ditch the s/c and go back to stock. It will likely never run right without a PCM programmed for that S/C

I have been seriously considering going back to stock. But wasn't sure if that was possible. Is it possible to by pass the S/C somehow under the hood or do I have to have the dealership remove it all together. In the end i guess it the same. But I am definately give up with the S/C part at this point. And I agree becasue of it it may never run right. Now I just have to figure out how to get back to stock. You've definately helped me out with simple and straight forward replies.

I hate to see someone else go through the same headaches I did dealing with Kenne Bell and their products.Personally I am a leave it stock kinda guy, less problems that way.....Not sure if you can by-pass it or not. Do you have any of the stock intake system?

Unfortunately because I bought it ( Navigator ) with the S/C already on it. I have no parts. Rebuild maybe or new engine? I even wanted to try having my battery coonectors replaced and or related fuses.
