how to repair throttle body linkage for 2000 lincoln ls.
The linklage broke, car will start/idle but will not move.
A pic of what broke would be cool. If the cable end broke it will need an entire throttle cable, if it was part of the throttle body , you may have to take it off and see if it can be welded back on or you will have to replace the entire throttle body
There is a metal S type looking linkage with very small c clamp retainers on each end. It is in the rear of the throttle body and is approxiametly one inch long. One of these clips came off and the linkage became disconnected. I reconnected, put a new clip on it and was able to drive it but it still looks like it may not be fitting correctly. The repair shop said the dealer did not sell this linakge part and I would have to buy a whole new throttle body for a 30 cent piece. This just doesn't seem right.
