Hi,

I am trying to get my car running at peak performance. A local mechanic did not time my engine right for an oil/spark plug change, so I took it to a local dealer.

Three times when they said the car was ready - it was not. The last time I picked up the car after they had supposedly repaired it, the check engine light was on and I heard engine noise. Their shop manager confirmed it.

I told them I didn't have confidence in their ability to repair my car and got a refund on the labor but not the parts - which was about $350 for six or seven coils.

After 2 months, I took it to a shop recommended by a friend. He told me that there was only a quart of grimmy oil in the engine and the engine noise sounded like lifters.

After his repairs, I hear a lot of road noise and the transmission delays in shifting.

Help! Is ther an honest mechanic in Van Nuys California?
