Engine Performance problem
2000 Ford Windstar 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 99000 miles

I had an intermmitant check engine light on a recent mountain trip. At an altitude of 10000 feet my engine was at about 4500rpm and I saw whiteish/blue smoke out the back. When I stopped the car, I had an oil film all over the back of the car. I proceeded home and had no smoke or oil film again, the car seems to run fine, and now the check engine light doesn't come on. Any ideas?
