I have a 2002 330 Coupe. Does anyone know what could cause the service engine soon light to come on. It's been on for about a week but the car runs fine.

with these cars you really need to have the faults read out.it could anything from a cam sensor to forgetting to put the gas cap on

Spend the $85 it costs to buy your own code reader, it will save you in the long run. I bought an Actron 9175 online at Amazon and just sorry I didn't buy one years ago. The BMW dealer charged me $75 to tell me my gas cap wasn't put back on right at some point. Now I have my own code reader and all the neigbors love me. The same code reader works on all post 1995 cars sold in the USA.
