2 weeks ago I got hit in the drivers side wheel. The impact mushroomed the strut tower a bit. The insurance and the bmw body shop is repairing the left strut tower and the left shock. I feel for the car to feel and drive the same as it did before the accident both of the shocks need to be replaced. am I correct with thinking this? .

Hi there,

It is always a good policy to replace shockers as a set, that way you will get the best results in steering and handling.

While I am in complete agreement about replacement of both shocks, please keep in mind that most insurance carriers are only going to do what it takes to return that car to service, and little if anything beyond that. So if there is something that you request that they do that is beyond the scope of simply returning your vehicle to a serviceable condition, it will be an out of your pocket expense.
