Transmission problem
2003 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 50000 miles

My o3 ranger /auto w/ a load button on shift lever .Sometimes when i start off it works just fine then other times it seems to slip an then BANGS into gear. At first I thought it was the filter an was about to change it but at the parts store the guy said it could be a solinoid so I tookit to a trans shop and they said it should be flushed an adjusted an filter changed for about 400 any suggestions???
