1999 Ford Ranger 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

Driving along a car pulls out in front of me. After slamming on the brakes I aviod hitting her however my 1999 Ford Ranger shut off. No skip, rough idle, just shut off. It now turns over but will not start. I check the fuel cut off switch under the dash and found it trip. I reset it, reset the battery terminal ( neg. side ) and it will not start still. Any help or directions is greatly appericated. BB
