1999 Audi A6 Car Wont Idle After Changing Battery

Engine Performance problem
1999 Audi A6 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 97000 miles

I just changed my battery and now the car starts but will turn off without my foot on the gas. IT also feels like I'm not getting muc power to the car and there is a lot of smoke coming out when I get it started up....any ideas what the issue could be?

Disconnecting the battery will caused the computer to lose its memory-Drive the vehicle till the ECM completes its relearning functions
