Electrical problem
1998 BMW 328 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 127000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
Rear drivers door on car is apparently locked shut, and I cannot get the door open. All other doors open by using key in drivers door. Nothing from the problem door. I have taken off the door cover, and tried to pull-up the manual door lock. It comes up, but does not open door. Can get to the rod that goes to actuator, and pulling this does not unlock door. I think that maybe the actuator has seized up, but I am not for sure. In order to change the actuator, the three torx screws have to be removed - but I can only get to one of them. Any ideas? help is greatly appreciated!!

Too late to work on it last night. When I got home this evening, I printed off the material that you forwarded to me. Tried to make sense of what to pry off. Very tight in there. Out of sheer desperation I poped the actuator off the top of the lock, and she opened right up as if there had never been a problem.

Apparently I had a actuator that died on me with the doors double locked. The diagnosis page that you provided helped me with that. When that actuator dies, the only way to get it open is to go inside that baby.

Many thanks for your help.
