Engine Performance problem

While driving at 45 mph today, I noticed my truck was no longer running. No brakes or steering. I was able to turn the key to restart. I noticed that I didn't have as much power. A mile down the road, the same thing happened and it did not restart. A friend said it sounded like the timing belt until he picked me up and noticed oil dripping underneath. The drain plug was gone with the oil. I don't think they just fall out. I replaced the plug, filter and oil. Still won't start. No weird noises. I'm looking for any troubleshooting help I can find because financially, a mechanic is out of the question.

Hi there,

There is a good chance that the engine is damaged beyond economical repair. If the engine is still turning over, you will have to do a compression test first, if no compressions, either the cam has seized& snapped the timing belt or the rings have failed due to overheating.
