Engine Performance problem

Car did run great. I washed my motor and now the check engine light comes on, but the car starts fine, idles fine, but won't rev past 2000 rpm without de-reving back down, then back up again, almost like it shuts down and rerves back up over and over? I dried all off all electricals, unplugged the battery and still the same once re-hooked up? Help please.

If the check engine light is on then there are fault codes present and if you can pull faults and repost then we can start on a path of repair. Most of the big auto parts retailers offer scanning devices that will tell us what the generic fault codes are and can be purchased for less than what it would cost to have the car diagnosed at a repair facility. Some of them will even scan for free. Lets start with this and I want you to know, I will be a stand for you and we will get this repaired.
