Engine Performance problem
1995 BMW 840 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 84300 miles

Just bought car. Ran grat until temps in AM got down to 30's. When started @this temp idles roughly down to 300 to 400 RPM from normal 600+ until warms up to mid range on tmep gauge. Then idles smoothly@600 RPM. Runs well above idle speed even when cold. Check engine light comes on after idles rough for a few seconds or so and then goes out when engine is run some more until warmed up. Oil change shows normal oil and antifreeze is normal also. No increase in either volume.

The possibility of your recent purchase having some cold starting issues might be related to some factory recalls. Could you repost with the last 7 characters of the VIN so I can check history, thanks mate!

CC89510 VIN shows a possible need for reprogramming, the DCS site is compromised at this time and i will try again on Friday the 5th.
