1995 BMW 525 DRIVERS WINDOW

Electrical problem
1995 BMW 525 V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 136000 miles

My window wont go up or down on the drivers side. It just started having this problem today. How can I fix it?? If I cant do it myself how much would it cost to fix this? 1) I hate getting screwed by unethical mechanics. 2) I cant afford it!
