Electrical problem
1990 BMW 318 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 160000 miles

Hi have a bmw e30 318is which has jus been ramed off a hill by a vauxhall which didnt wait around.
Anyway i also had an e30 316 (1.8L carb) auto which i have striped and transfered every nut and bolt onto it but the only problem i have is the fuel pump wireing as the main engine loom is self contained.
the pump has a 3pin connector which im guessing 1 is earth another to be power and the 3rd to be a trigger wire from a relay, if im correct would the relay be linked directly to the ignition as ive noticed that the fuel pump starts and primes the system upon tuning the key but it shuts down after this till the engine turns over. Am i close? any help would be greatly apreciated
