Electrical problem
2000 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 107000 miles

Hello
I have a 2000 Dodge intrepid, V6 2.7, with 107000 miles on her.
I was less then a mile from my house when the OB light started flashing. I made it home, but then the car would not restart. The code I got was:
P0353 (M) Ignition Coil # 3 Primary Circuit Peak primary circuit current not achieved with maximum
dwell time.
So I replaced that ignition coil with a new one and a new spark plug. It would crank but not start. Checked the fuses and the ignition fuse was blown. So replaced it and the car did start only to blow the fuse again and shut off. The number 3 coil I replaced was hot. The rest weren't.
So I disconnected the wire of that coil (#3), changed the fuse and started the car. The car runs now without blowing the fuse. Of course the light stays on since #3 is unhooked.
Does anyone know what else I could do to fix coil number 3. Any idea of what it could be.

Thanks alot
Brenda

Soundsliek the power wire for coil 3 is shorted to ground somewhere between the main harness connector and the coil. Have seen these harnesses go bad where the harness leaves the rear of the intake manifold to the main plug (drivers side). To find the short you will have to open the harness up and see where it is bad

Thank you so much. Found the bad wire, and the car is running fine now. Again thank you!
