Engine Cooling problem 2000 Chevy Venture 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 87000 miles The van ran very hot, up to the red, and then would go back down into normal range. I noticed no change in performance though. I changed the thermostat, thinking that would fix the problem; however it continued and I would have heat only occasionally. I have now changed the thermostat again, the radiator cap, the water pump, and the serpentine belt. I have made sure to burp the system anytime I did anything also. I'm not sure what else to look at.
